Dishwashing/Autoclaving Facility

Hello From the Biological Sciences, Dishwashing and Autoclaving Facility

 We would like to extend our greetings to those who do not know us.  We are a small interdepartmental  industrial dishwashing, autoclaving , baking,  biohazardous materials processing and disposal service.

The unique services that we offer are:

Dishwashing

        We professionally pre wash scientific glassware, then wash & dry them in our industrial
         dishwashers and dryers.  Most dishwashing orders are processed within a turn around time of
         24 hours.    Special Note: If we break anything, we credit your account with an equal amount of
         services.

       We offer hand washing for specialty glassware that cannot be washed or dried in an industrial
         machine.

Autoclaving

       We offer self -service or full service autoclaving.  We have five industrial self-service autoclaves
        that are available to clients twenty-four hours a day, every day.  In our full service autoclaving
         we will put your items then take them out for you when they are finished.
           Upon request, we will call you as soon as they are ready.  We also have two large autoclaves
            that are used for large orders and overnight autoclaving.

      Upon request, we supply and apply aluminum foil on cleaned glassware and then sterilize them
          through autoclaving (steam sterilization) or overnight  baking.
 

Biohazardous Waste Materials

       Another unique service that we provide involves sterilization and disposal of biohazardous
          materials.  The materials that we can handle are determined and monitored by EH&S.   We
          maintain detailed records of all biohazardous materials that we receive and process.   All
          materials must be delivered in a sealed (EH&S approved) Red Bag with the PI’s name written
          on the bag and contents , along with what type of biohazardous agent contained.

Blood waste protocol

Some people around UCI have the misconception that we only serve the School of Biological Sciences.   We offer our services to the entire university, so come on in and check us out!  If your have any specific questions, please give us call at 949-824-6040.
