Growth and health of trees in the Blocks '93 experiment

Animated view of eight years of tree growth in a large scale field experiment.

Growth of Terminalia amazonia from 1993 to 2001 is seen by clicking on each year. The blocks and treatments are as in The field station again is indicated by a red rectangle for scale. The red line descending through Blocks 4 and 5 is a path. Tree size is proportional to the size of the rectangle indicating each tree. The colors in the final frame represent the health status of each tree in 2001, grading from dark green (very healthy) to yellow (dying).

The grid represents 45 parcels distributed in 5 experimental blocks. The field station is shown in red at the top for scale; it measures 7X16 meters. The view is toward the north, with blocks 4 and 5 on the left and block 1 on the right. The topography shows the steepness of blocks 1 and 2 compared to the others.
