Bison Experimental Restoration Site

The second restoration site on the UCI Ecological Preserve is along the mid western border on a low grade at the base of the hils. At this time it consists of only three pods but is planned for expansion during the 1997-98 academic year  by students of Restoration Ecology 175. The first and second pods, pods 101 and 102, were planted with mature black sage (Salvia mellifera) , california buckwheat or coastal sagebrush. The third pod, pod 103, is also part of the cactus wren habitat project and consists of mature transplanted coastal cholla (Opuntia prolifera).
