21 JANUARY 1997. WORLD: CLIMATE (TROPOSPHERE)

Environmental News Network reports that despite the warmest year on record and El Nino, the December troposphere temperature was the coldest ever reported in the layer of the atmosphere between 17 km to 22 km, according to Dr. Roy Spencer of NASA and Dr. John Christy of the Global Hydrology and Climate Center of the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
