The Internet has many resources that allows individuals to learn about the
whales and efforts to protect their populations.
While there have been recent famous whales in the media such as Free Willy's Keiko and J.J., the Gray
Whale, most whales do not capture the media attention except during
whale watching expeditions.
To learn more about whales, see them through the eyes of sixth graders or visit a whale museum.
Two of the major organizations committeed to the causes of whale habitat
and hunting protection are: Save the Whales and Whaleman Foundation. Due to their
dwindling population, efforts are being continued to maintain the existing
species and enforcing international agreements on their protection.
